Bonding Benefits of Joining Group Class

Carole tells us that group classes can also offer you the opportunity to bond and interact with other pregnant moms:

Our students tell us that the biggest benefit of being in a group class is the ‘fun factor’. Hypnobabies students enjoy meeting others who are doing the Hypnobabies program, and they enjoy sharing their experiences and encouraging each other. Our students are encouraged to ask their instructor questions while they are in classes, and even after classes are done while they’re practicing in maintenance mode, and waiting to give birth to their babies. Oftentimes, classes will meet for a reunion once all the babies are born! The benefit of doing the 5-week, Home Study version of our course, is that it is self-study. This is helpful for those mothers who don’t have an instructor nearby, or who cannot afford the live-class fee, or who have odd work schedules that make attending a weekly class impossible. The mother learns all the techniques by reading the course materials and listening to the scripts on audio tracks. Once the mother has learned all the hypnosis techniques, and if she has a Birth Partner, there is a mini-script that they can practice together so that her Birth Partner learns about the hypnosis tools, and the cue words and deepening techniques.

Self-Hypnosis for Childbirth?

Although this program may sound wonderful to the mom-to-be who does not want to experience the pain of labor, it is not for everyone. If you decide to use the Hypnobabies program, you must be deeply committed to the method for it to work. Classes help to assure a couple’s commitment to the method, along with the support of other couples, to successfully complete the program.  And, for those who purchase the CDs or MP3s, there must be a deep sense of commitment – and willingness to use the lessons at least several times a week, if not daily.

Benefits to Natural Childbirth With Hypnosis

Natural childbirth with hypnosis offers many benefits during pregnancy and labor: Reduced or eliminated pain, no side effects for mom or baby as opposed to pain medication, and a retraining of the brain to think of childbirth as a natural process rather than an unnatural or scary time. Hypnobirthing can give you a sense of empowerment, relaxation, and a positive outlook, so that you will enjoy the birth of your little one, instead of fearing it.
